The Fenwick Brothers (Fred, Bill, Walter and George) and Robert Moorish established the sawmill in 1908 on the northern side of Cooroy township. It was the first sawmill in Cooroy and originally began operating in 1909, trading as 'Canadian Sawmills'. In ca 1912 Morrish sold his interest in the mill to the Fenwicks, who sold out to Blanford, Llewellyn, Smith and Carter in 1929. In 1941 the mill was acquired by Straker & Sons, who enlarged it and traded as the Cooroy Sawmilling Company. They ceased sawing operations in 1972.Date1909Image NoM863587
