TitleAdmission ticket for West's Majestic Theatre, Factory Street, Pomona, 2005 Additional InformationThe Majestic Theatre was originally built as a multi-function hall in 1921 for Errol A. Osborne and wife Myra, then licensees of the Pomona Railway Hotel. Silent films were screened from1923 until 1931 when the first 'talkies' were shown. In 1974 Ron and Mandy West purchased the theatre and after initially operating it as a first release cinema they reopened in in 1987 as a silent movie house, screening films with an organ accompaniment. The theatre passed into community ownership in 2006 and following extensive refurbishment it is operated by Pomona Progress Art Tourism Incorporated as a silent film venue which is also equipped for stage performances and community and corporate events.Date2005Image NoM864680
