A marriage of interest to residents of the North Coast and Northern Rivers of New South Wales took place at the Pomona Roman Catholic Church on May 7, when 'Mr. P. G. Cooke second son of Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Cooke, Durham, England) was married to Miss V. A. Bazzo (second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bazzo, Kia Ora, Pomona). Rev. Father O'Rourke (Nambour) officiated, and Miss B. Toomey presided at the organ, while Mr. L. Bazzo (cousin of the bride) assisted on the violin. The church had been decorated by the bride's girl friends. The bride, who was given away by her father, was in ivory satin and mariette. Her embroidered tulle veil was lent by Mrs. N. Bunney (Eumundi), and she carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Miss M. A. Bazzo (sister of the bride), who attended as bridesmaid, was in blue crepe de Chine, and she also wore a Tuscan straw hat relieved with tulle. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and white chrysanthemums. Mr. A. C. Craven was best man. After the ceremony about 50 guests were entertained at a wedding breakfast at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. J. Bazzo wore a frock of pink crepe de Chine, with a hat to tone. The two-tier wedding cake was made and donated by Mrs. V. Bazzo (aunt of the bride). Later the bridal pair left for Brisbane, "where the honeymoon is being spent, and the bride wore a travelling frock of bois de rose wool repp relieved with floral crepe de Chine, with a hat to tone.
