TitleEmma Jane Pratt, Noosaville, ca 1950sAdditional InformationWeyba has been dear to the hearts of the descendants of the Pratt family for over 100 years. Frederick Samuel Pratt purchased a parcel of 15 acres of land on the esplanade of Weyba Creek on 18th June 1923. He and his wife Emma Jane ( Ford) had recently moved back from Brisbane to Gympie, to take up a Miner’s Lease at Ashford Hill.
The association with Weyba, however began much earlier. Emma Jane, on her 21st Birthday on 11 January 1895, was presented with property documents for land on Weyba Creek, a gift from her parents Walter John and Jane Ford of Gympie. At this time Weyba was a popular holiday spot, within a day's journey from the Gold Town of Gympie.
