Additional InformationCastaways Holiday Motel was located on the Noosa Coast Highway (now known as David Low Way) in Castaways Beach.
It offered accommodation in fully self-contained suite with well equipped kitchen, sliding screen to separate bedroom and living room, decorated in a Scandinavian style. All suites included colour television, private balconies and covered car ports.
Gas-fired barbecues, a pool, sauna, breakfast cabana and fully equipped laundry were also available for the exclusive use of guests.
The grounds were developed as a tropical garden with cool green lawns, palms and brilliant tropical flowers. It was only 120 metres to the beach, shaded by casuarina and honey suckle banksia trees.
The motel was the first development in the area and was owned by Peter and Marea Brown.
