ABOUT THIS ITEM
Additional Information
Griffith Studios was one of the main photographers in the Noosa area for many decades.
Sam Griffiths was the proprietor of the business and also established the Noosa News. His son Bill (and other family members) worked with him in both ventures.
The business was sold in the mid-1970s and the photographic negatives were believed to be lost until a box full was discovered in the storeroom of a Tewantin office. They were offered as a donation to Noosa Libraries for the heritage collection.
Many of the negatives were in a state of deterioration. All have been scanned and made available on Heritage Noosa. As many as possible have been identified and the process of adding details is ongoing.
This Collection captures key Noosa events, people and places from the 1960s to the 1990s.
