Owners Messrs McGhie & Co., April 1876. Artist: Charles Gordon Sebastian Hirst McGhie, Luya & Company established Noosa Sawmills at South Brisbane in the early 1880s. Timber was transported by boat from the Noosa and Lake Cootharaba region to the sawmills. This watercolour painting depicts the sawmills looking towards present day Gardens Point and Old Government House. CGS Hirst also painted another view of the Noosa Sawmills from the river direction.
