HERITAGE NOOSA
Pine Trees Motel and Caravan Park
DETAILS
Additional InformationPine Trees began as a well‑known caravan park on Hastings Street, Noosa Heads. It was owned for a period by Les Anders, with Ray Kelly managing the park at one stage. In the late 1960s, brothers Jack and Les Anders operated the business for about three years before selling it in August 1969 to two young Victorian couples, Ken and Robin Taylor and Peter and Kay Hennings.
After taking over, the new owners made immediate improvements, including installing petrol bowsers and upgrading park facilities. As tourism in Noosa grew, they transformed the site dramatically. By the early 1970s, Pine Trees Caravan Park had evolved into the Pine Trees Motel‑Boatel, a modern accommodation complex featuring self‑contained units, air‑conditioning, telephones, heated pools, and one of Queensland’s first colour‑TV distribution systems. The complex also included the Green Cherry restaurant and a convention room.
