The Noosa Rollerdrome in Noosaville was a famous place for families and youth to gather during the roller-skating boom of the 1970s and 1980s. The rink was known for its public skating sessions, learn-to-skate classes, fast Friday night races, and iconic 1980s soundtrack that featured couples' skates and popular hits. It also served the community in unique ways by hosting local auctions, early Sunday church services, and even a special demonstration for the 1979 Festival of Waters. When the roller-skating craze eventually faded, the venue closed down and was later converted into a car repair shop.
