Noosa History of Surfing
ABOUT THIS ITEM
The Project
In 2022, Noosa Libraries began recording a series of interviews with some of the surfers and board makers who represent the surfing generations of the 1960s-1990s. In these interviews, personal stories are told against the wider backdrop of an era of significant social, economic and cultural change as the population of the Noosa Shire rapidly grew from the mid 70s onwards.
Local surfer, Michael Court, was a co-interviewer and integral to establishing the project with Council's Heritage Co-ordinator, Jane Harding.
