ABOUT THIS ITEM

TitleFor the love of Mary [sound recording] : songs and poetry : a tribute to keep the Mary River running free / by Various ArtistsSummaryAbstract: Do yourselves a favour ... Rush out and get a copy of "For the Love of Mary" - the soon-to-be-released CD of songs and poems hailing our blessed Mary River. If there was ever a need for a pick-me-up in this on-going campaign, this CD is the thing to do it. My admiration and thanks to the musicians, poets and organising volunteers, particularly Tony Hawkyard, who managed to get this project off the ground and into the valley. On one of those "down" days, just listening to the CD will give you the chance you need to take a deep breath, regain your focus and head for the frontline again - that is, getting through every day one at a time. The sentiments on the CD are wide and varied but all strike a chord, and they all make a difference. Well done guys and gals.ImprintEumundi, Qld. : Electric Bedland Studio, 2006Collation1 sound disc (CD) : digital, stereo ; 4 3/4 in. + booklet (20 p.)ContentsTHE DREAMING Ian Mackay -- MARY MUST NEVER BE DAMMED Words and Music by Steve Dennis -- NO GOD DAMNED DAM Cut Snakes -- Mate by Steve Hutch -- Mary by Mick Hancock -- WE DON'T WANT YOUR DAM Vic Lanyon -- Mary Rest Assured by Simplicity Dee -- DAM WITHOUT FOUNDATION Ian Mackay -- Democracy Knocks by Kelly King -- Damn The Dam by Steve Hutch -- OUR HOME Sue Smith -- PETER BEATER Keith Gall -- And The Rain Comes Down Jodie Knight -- No Damn Muddy Waters Don Gibbs -- NO Jody Knight -- SAVE THE MARY RIVER Krystie Morrison -- If You Have A Heart by Simplicity Dee -- NO DAM(n) WAY Ian Mackay -- Dry by Kelly King -- THEY AIN'T GONNA BUILD A DAM AT ALL by Keith Gall -- Let The River Mary Flow by Jon Stitz -- Bye Bye Beattie by John Baillie -- THE MARY RIVER by the Pomona Choir -- WE DON'T WANT A BIG, BIG DAM by Kellen & Gabby FigucioFormatMusic
