HERITAGE NOOSA
Kia Ora
DETAILS
DescriptionKia Ora, formerly located at 277 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville, was built by Frank Jones in the 1920s, from timber transported by truck from Wondai down to Noosaville. He built a second house next door, named Wondai. The houses were used as holiday homes by the family and employees of the Wondai Mill. Following the deaths of Frank and Wilhelmina, the houses went to the two surviving daughters. Doris received Kia Ora and it continued to be a holiday home until both houses were sold in 1963 by real estate agent Max Agar. It remained in situ until approximately 2008, when it was demolished and a block of units was built on the site.
