The House of Bottles, built by bottle collector, George Clifford, opened in 1966 to the public. The 'Big Stubby', 8.5 m high and 4 m across, was added in 1969. It had 3 floors with a spiral staircase to the top and a 15 metre slide to the bottom. The Big Stubby comprised 17,000 stubbies and took 5 months to build.
