Research shows that TH Davis purchased sawmilling plant from North Arm in 1936 and it was operating by February 1937. It was operated by Davis and Bradow, and not rebuilt. Davis and Bradow also owned another sawmill at Como, moved from Cootharaba in August 1933.

Mrs Gladys Bradow (nee Davis) told me that the sawmill sited beside her father Tom Davis’ home “Bellwood” was burnt down in a bush fire on 29 October 1937. The same fire also burnt out Henderson’s sawmill sited nearby on Cootharaba Rd opposite Kinmond Creek Road, and Mr Napier’s house at Twin Hills, on the range.
