Additional Information1982–1988: Site Preparation
The site originally housed the Pine Trees Caravan Park and Service Station. In 1988, the structures were demolished to facilitate the construction of a new luxury asset by Suncorp.
December 1989: Official Inauguration
The property opened as the Sheraton Noosa Resort, becoming the first international five-star hotel on Hastings Street.
2003–2005: First Major Repositioning
Under the direction of Noel Robinson Architects, the hotel underwent a major renovation to modernize facilities. This phase included the creation of Catos Restaurant and Bar, a new health and spa club, and a complete redesign of the pool and landscaping.
2013: Modernization Program
The resort underwent a multi-million dollar renovation of its 176 rooms and suites, transitioning the aesthetic away from its original "pink" facade to a more contemporary style.
2014–2015: Ownership Change
In late 2014, the resort was acquired Noosa Pacific Hotel Pty Ltd.
June 2016: Rebranding to Sofitel
The property officially transitioned to the Accor management portfolio. On June 13, 2016, it was rebranded as the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort, marking the introduction of the first Sofitel resort in Australia.
December 2025: Transition to Elysium Noosa Resort.
