Established in 1920 at the corner of Memorial and Poinciana Avenues, the Tewantin Memorial Hall & School of Arts served as a vital community hub and a central meeting place for returned service personnel. Over time, the building was extended to incorporate the Tewantin Soldiers' Memorial Hall (RSL Hall) and Dan Martin’s Dance Hall, eventually being gifted to the RSL through a formal Deed of Grant.
The original timber structure stood until March 17, 1967, when it was destroyed by fire. A new hall was subsequently built on the same site and officially opened on August 29, 1970, by the Queensland Governor, Sir Alan Mansfield.Address1, Memorial Ave, Tewantin
