Additional InformationThe Noosa & District Pipe Band officially registered as a band in 2001, though its foundational roots trace back to 1981 when founding piper Don Drysdale moved to Tewantin from Western Victoria. In 1982, Drysdale teamed up with solo side drummer John Arnell to lead the local ANZAC Day march, a performance that successfully attracted other pipers from the crowd and sparked the idea for a permanent group. Over the next two decades, this collective grew steadily before achieving its formal registration. The band remains a vital part of the Sunshine Coast community, regularly leading street parades and services for ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day, and regional Scottish festivals.
