Bounded by Kingfisher Drive, Heron and Grebe Streets, the village square was originally the location of the Peregian Beach swimming pool, constructed by developer T.M Burke Pty Ltd in the 1960s. In the 1980s, the pool was filled in, and the resulting vacant square developed as a recreation and shopping precinct.
