Dwelling, 6 Henry Street, Cooran, 1 May 2024

In June 1937, Mervyn Alfredson (Alfredson's Joinery) purchased a house and an acre of land on the western
side of Henry Street, Cooran, from Charlotte Nielsen. This became the Alfredson’s family home
and remained in the ownership of the family until 2020.

Alfredson built five houses on Henry Street, Cooran, for members of his staff. Employees
purchased the houses essentially at cost price. Four of these survive at 5, 6, 9, and 11 Henry
Street (Source: Alfredson's Joinery - a history of 'Cooran' pre-cut houses by Marianne Taylor, Architectural Historian)
