TitleView from Hay family property, Noosa Drive, Noosa Heads, 1917 Additional InformationWalter Hay, a grazier, bought portion 171 (180 acres) at Noosa in June 1881. By 1882 he had built a guesthouse named 'Bayview' on the property. Following Walter's death in 1907 the property passed to family members. It was acquired by John Donovan in 1918 and returned again to the Hay family. In the 1920s a new boarding house 'Hillcrest' was constructed around the original 'Bayview' building. In 1958 the property was purchased by the Anglican Church for use as a conference centre. It was renamed 'Halse Lodge' after Archbishop Halse and officially opened on 1 May 1959.Date1917Image NoM864455
