The couple had five children; Howard, Eric, Lola Violet, Cloudesley John 'George' and Edna May. They had initially moved to Tewantin from Gympie in ca 1926 and rented, then purchased a house in Doonella Street. They sold the residence in1985. The Parkyn's also owned property at Munna Point, which Jack began developing in the late 1920s. He constructed a row of six cottages and a general store in Russell Street and cleared an adjacent section of reserved land for use as a camping and caravan ground.
