The Parkyn family ran regular trips along the North Shore, Noosa, to fish and visit the famous coloured sands and Double Island Point. Pictured: include: Driver John 'Jack' Parkyn (seated on drum) and son Howard being 'piggy backed' (far right). Before the ferry service was established, cars were transported from Parkyn's jetty at Tewantin across the Noosa River to the North Shore using two dinghies roped together. At times the cars were left on the beach ready for daytrippers to arrive by boat.Date1930Image NoM839290
