Title'Miss Tewantin' coming ashore with group of fishermen, Tewantin, 1930 Additional InformationJack Parkyn purchased the 30 foot boat from Varce Cardell in ca 1926. In addition to fishing trips, the boat was used for ferrying passengers and for pleasure cruises up the Noosa River. In the 1930s, when Jack's sons Howard and Cloudesley took over his boat business, they expanded it by running regular trips to the lakes, including day trips via Lake Cooroibah to Lake Cootharaba, disembarking at Teewah Landing and then hiking to the coloured sands on the North Shore. The Parkyns continued to operate their boat business until 1967, when they sold out to Ted Ibbs.Date1930Image NoM839295
