He also cleared a section of reserved land opposite the cottages for use as a camping ground along the bank of the Noosa River. By 1925 he had erected a general store to cater for the tenants of the cottages, other visiting holiday makers and local residents. The Parkyn's sold their Munna Point properties in 1947. The store was later converted to 'Hot Gillies' restaurant by Peter Gilligan, who renovated and reopened the building as 'Filligan's' restaurant on 26 January 1995.DateBetween 1st January 1930 and 31st December 1939Image NoM839280
