The Fenwick Brothers and Robert Morrish established the sawmill at the lower end of Maple Street in 1908. The mill commenced operation early in 1909. Logs were hauled down the main street of the township by bullock teams and unloaded in the mill yard. Initial operations began in what became a timber yard connected to the mill which was built in 1911-1912. For many years the mill cut hardwood logs into house frame timber. Production suffered during the depression and in 1929 the mill was sold to Reuben Blandford, E.H. Llewelly, W.L. Smith and Sara Carter.Date1909Image NoM863581
