Iris (nee Furness) was the wife of Howard Parkyn (1913-2003), who ran the Parkyn Brothers boat hire business at Tewantin with his brother Cloudesley (George) from the 1930s until 1966. The brothers also conducted cruises aboard their boats the Miss Tewantin I and II for approximately 40 years. Howard married Iris on 11 October 1939. The couple initially lived in a small, former miner's hut relocated from Gympie to a block of land in Pelican Street, Tewantin. They had one child, John Howard (1948- ).Date1948Image NoM856836
