TitleFenwick Bros. and Morrish Sawmill employees, Cooroy, 1909 Additional InformationThe sawmill, which traded as 'Canadian Sawmills', was the first mill to operated in Cooroy. It was located at the lower end of Maple Street on the northern side of the township and began operating in 1909. The Fenwick Brothers; Walker, Bill, Fred and George entered into partnership with Robert Morrish after moving to Cooroy from Alstonville, New South Wales. Robert sold his interest in the sawmill to the Fenwick's in ca 1912 and in 1929 they sold out to Blanford, Llewellyn, Smith and Carter. The sawmill was subsequently purchased by Straker and sons in 1941. Pictured: include; Back row: Bill Fenwick (left) and Charles Fenwick (third from left).
