TitleMajestic Theatre, Factory Street, Pomona, 1978 Additional InformationThe Majestic was built by a Pomona publican in 1921 for use as a public hall. It became a venue for showing silent films in 1923 and has continued to screen pictures ever since. The premises was purchased in 1974 by Ron and Mandy West (Pictured:), who in 1987 reverted to showing only silent films with an organ accompaniment. The theatre passed into community ownership in 2006 and following extensive refurbishment it is operated by Pomona Progress Art Tourism Incorporated as a silent film venue which is also equipped for stage performances and community and corporate events.Date1978Image NoM734519
