The Parkyn family initially moved to Tewantin from Gympie in ca 1926 and rented a house in Doonella Street from the Bickle family. They purchased the neighbouring house in 1927 and later purchased the two flats (Pictured: possibly in Pelican
Street). The Parkyn's also owned property at Munna Point, which Jack Parkyn began to develop in the late 1920s. He constructed a row of six cottages and a general store in Russell Street and cleared an adjacent section of reserved land for use as a camping and caravan ground. In1947 the Parkyn's sold their Munna Point properties. They retained their Tewantin residence until 1985.Dateca 1930sImage NoM856817M856818
