27th November 1917
"A Tiny Little Shark. Writing from Tewantin, Mr. John Parkyn relates that about a fortnight, ago he caught a blue or ground shark, (maneater) just under 10ft. long and fully 2ft. across the head, in front of Gympie Terrace. "He was empty" says Mr. Parkyn and gave me a great bit of sport to land. He is the biggest shark caught here for a long time, if not the biggest. His teeth, there were seven rows of them and the eighth just coming, were fully an inch long in the front row. There were 26 in the top and 29 in the bottom row."Dateca 1918Image NoT2001963T2001981
