Tinbeerwah Provisional School No 1461 opened on 2 September 1914. The first teacher was Beesie Pollock. It became Tinbeerwah State School on 1 September 1916 and closed on 9 August 1963 because of transport difficulties.
The Tinbeerwah State School building was relocated to Doonella Street, Tewantin where it still in use as Tewantin Community Kindergarten.
The former school site is at the junction of Sivyers Road and Cooroy-Noosa Road, now known as Tinbeerwah School Park. A small cairn and plaque mark the site of the school.
