Flooding, Noosa River, Noosaville, February 1931

ABOUT THIS IMAGE

TitleFlooding, Noosa River, Noosaville, February 1931Additional InformationThe flood in February 1931 caused little damage. Several houses were surrounded by flood waters for a time and water entered the Fish and Ice Works but did not cause operations to cease. Hurricane and heavy tides at Tewantin obstructed flood water in the Hinterland causing flood levels there to rise to levels higher than 1893. The heavy rains were the result of a cyclone off Bowen and an anti-cyclone off the south west coast of the continent. (Source: provided by Donor)DateFebruary 1931Image NoT2005052
