The Hall was located at the corner of Poinciana Avenue and Memorial Avenue. It comprised the former School of Arts. The fire caused an estimated $40,000 damage to the building. It was replaced by a new R.S.L. Hall which was officially opened in September 1970 by the then Queensland Governor, Sir Alan Mansfield. The C.W.A. Rest Room and Cottage (left) escaped the blaze.
