Lifelong Noosa resident and Noosa surfer, Lynne Jones, discusses her parents, coming of age in Noosa, surfing, working life and businesses, friendships and relationships, local surfing identities, local surf breaks, moving to Brisbane, surfing in New Zealand, and changes over time in surfing and surf conditions in Noosa.

The interview provides a local’s perspective on the early days of surfing in Noosa, the evolution of Noosa as surfers moved into the area, the interaction between locals, visiting surfers, and new resident surfers, and the impact of the influx of surfers on the local community. It also provides the perspective of a female surfer from this era and the relationship between male and female surfers.
