Additional InformationOn Stage: Dave Hutchison, Garth Madill, Paul Bevear, Phil Jarratt, Lee McGowan and Stuart Campbell Background: On 11 March 2025, Noosa Libraries hosted an event at The J to promote and celebrate the work to date on the project 'Noosa's Surfing History'. Some of the surfers and board makers who had already recorded oral history interviews with the library, were invited to form a panel, 'in conversation' with guest moderator Lee McGowan. A similar oral history project had also been undertaken by Sunshine Coast Libraries, covering the central and southern parts of the Sunshine Coast. To promote this work also, Noosa Libraries invited the Sunshine Coast Council's Heritage Librarian to discuss their project and show short clips of these interviews. The event concluded with the presentation of a surfboard to David 'Harpo' Hutchison by a group of surfers led by Laurie Jarman.
