The Project
Noosa Museum is run by the Cooroora Historical Society. The society formed in December 1981 and moved into the former Noosa Shire Council Chambers building the following year. Over the subsequent decades, the Noosa Museum built an extensive image collection from loans and donations from the community of the Noosa Shire and this work is ongoing.

In 2025, the Noosa Museum began a collaborative project with Noosa Libraries to begin sharing this vast image collection with an online audience through Heritage Noosa.

Noosa Museum retains reproductive rights over all Noosa Museum Image Collection images that are in copyright. Copyright information for each image can be found in the information panel on the right hand side of the image.
