The Banksias Ampol Service Station and Caravan Park

Additional InformationThe Banksias, Service Station and Caravan Park was opened in May 1970 on the corner of Noosa Drive and Sunshine Beach Road.
It was built and operated by Mr Ron Sadler who moved to Noosa Heads after the loss of his wife in Brisbane. Ron purchased the site for a service station and later acquired additional land behind it for a caravan park. Ron with two of his daughters lived in the residence built above the business. With Ron and eldest daughter Christine operating the business, younger daughter Sharron attended Noosa District High School and the mechanical workshop was overseen by Mr Kel Kruger, a highly skilled mechanic.
The 28 site caravan park, was opened shortly after the service station after completion of sewerage works.
