Tewantin State School celebrated its sesquicentenary on 1 August 2025 with a community walk of past and current pupils. Participants walked from the school oval, down Poinciana Avenue to the square in front of the cenotaph. The assembled crowd sang a round of 'Happy Birthday' while a drone flew overhead, capturing the moment. Some past students were conveyed in a motorcade of classic cars.
The community walk was followed by a Formal Assembly and Decade Roll Call at the school, a fete in the afternoon and an evening celebration featuring a live band. At the formal assembly, the 150th cake was cut by both the eldest past pupil of TSS in attendance, Joan Buchanan, and the youngest current prep student. The following day, celebrations continued with an open classroom and memorabilia display.
