In September 1939, fire destroyed nine timber buildings along Memorial Avenue between the Pomona Hotel, which was saved, and Reserve Street to the east. New shops were quickly erected and this group of three is notable for being in the Art Deco style, which was popular in the inter-war period. Post-WWI, the style was associated with progress and modernity and, in regional Australia in the 1930s, was popular for cinemas and milk bars. Buildings in this style are rare in Noosa Shire.Address6, Memorial Avenue, Pomona
