Bishop Doody served the Pomona district for 12 years, from 1936 to 1948. Father Doody left the Pomona region in 1948 upon being elevated to Bishop of Armidale on 11 March 1948. To mark the occasion, the community and parishioners of the Pomona district presented him with a cheque for £1,571 to purchase a new car.
