The two storey hotel (Pictured:) was opened by F. Callaghan in 1913. It was built on the same site as the first Pomona Hotel. The original building was a one-storey timber structure commenced in October 1905 for Christian Walter, a farmer of Yandina. Walter was granted a liquor license on 7 February 1906 and between 1906 and 1913 the hotel licensees changed frequently. The first hotel was destroyed by fire on 3 January 1913 and replaced in the same year by the new, two storey hotel featuring verandahs around the entire length of the front of the building with the name 'J Connolly Licensed Victualler' printed above the front entry.Date1915Image NoM734277
