Raised in Tewantin, Bill grew up in a family deeply connected to photography—his father, Sam Griffiths, established Griffiths Studios after moving from farming into photography, becoming widely known as 'Sam the Cameraman.'
Bill attended Tewantin State School and later Nambour High School before leaving at age 15 to work with his father. After exploring other trades—including timber cutting, spray painting, and boat building—he returned to photography, eventually running Griffiths Studios alongside his wife Sue.
