John (Jack) Parkyn began developing the Parkyn family's property at Munna Point in the late 1920s. He constructed a row of six fully equipped cottages and a general store in Russell Street. Holiday makers would travel up by train to Cooroy and then catch a train to Noosaville. Jack also cleared a section of reserved land opposite his cottages along the bank of the Noosa River for use as a camping and caravan ground. The Parkyn's sold their Munna Point properties in 1947.Date1932Image NoA843
