Jenny Morgan nee Clarey, grew up in Tewantin, one of 13 children of local fisherman William Benjamin Clarey and Cooroy girl Edith Merle Birch.
In this oral history interview, Jenny paints an evocative picture of growing up in 1960s Noosa and then raising a family and making a living. The significant role surfing has played in her life is interwoven in the story. It is also a story of the importance of family, of hard work, and appreciating the life you are given, even when it has thrown you some challenges. Jenny also makes some observations on changes in Noosa and the issues places pressure on the community, in particular Airbnb. The interview is rich with the names of people that lived and worked in Noosa during the 1960s and 1970s, both friends, local business people and surfers.
